Mysterious Symbol

I am currently on my internet browser and I have this never before seen symbol located in the upper right hand corner of my screen where the unlock symbol, a big square w/two little green squares, 1XEV symbol and all my bars are. The symbol has a 1 and a circle with an arrow in the middle and a red asterik on the end of the arrow. Like I said, I've NEVER seen this symbol since I've gotten this phone last August. If anybody could tell me what this is, it will be a great help to me! Thank you!

If this is what you are referring to, its an app update you have installed from App World.

Open App World and find the app with the red asterisk. The notification icon should clear after doing this.
