Good news to Sprint Tour owners...

Your device will now be much much cooler!!!!

This is from CrackBerry.com blog:

Hot off the presses - Sprint has become the next carrier to officially launch OS 5.0 for the Tour 9630. Reports are flying in that the download is currently available via Desktop Mananger for Sprint Customers, and devices will be upgraded to OS 5.0.0.484. This leaves Big Red as one of the few carriers to still not drop an official 5.0 for the Tour. No download link listed just yet, but it should pop up on the BlackBerry Software Downloads page in the next few days. So what are you waiting for Sprint users?! Plug in and get upgrading!!

I installed it last night..

So far I have only good things to say about it. Everything reacts faster and smoother. Its like a totally different phone. This tells me the Tour2 is really going to be a kick @ss device...

Overall, most changes are cosmetic.

There are simplified menus and tweaks here and there...

2 differences of 4.7 to 5.0 I really like so far are:

- When searching for a contact from the home screen, the mobile's contact is first, then home, then work...
With 4.7 it was always work first and it pissed me off since most of the time I call people's mobiles...

- When sending a picture via email, it now lets you select the image size before sending it!


As I keep finding new thing, I will let you all know...

PS. I know there are many many forums out there that mention the new things that 5.0 bring, even though I read a lot of info on it, I am now discovering these changes myself... Its totally a different experience when you do it yourself!

It seems that it will not work if you are on a BES server from what I have read.  Has anyone heard any different?  Or, know a work around?

With the advent of 5.0 the SMS text options now offer 'Bubble' and 'Stripe'.  I want the Bubble but both options just give me the Stripe look.  Is there something I am missing or is this just a minor issue to be cleaned up on next update?
