Is anyone having trackball issues with the Tour?

My vertical is fine, but horizontal is sometimes unresponsive and doesn't very smooth on the screen...

I may have to get it exchanged....  Sad

Yes I did... but it still lags... I have used a curve and a bold and theirs responds very smoothly... I dont think I want to spend $200 on a berry with a defective ball  Tongue

I'm in the same boat Ryu. My trackball is driving me crazy. For the most part, its weak in response when I'm moving right. Has anyone had any success taking it back to the store and getting it replaced? I'm worried I'll walk in there and explain the ordeal and when it comes to them testing it out themselves, it will work smoothly lol.

I have my sensitivity set to 80 for both vertical and horizontal.

Mine's issue is moving right mostly, sometimes when moving left.

I have a Sprint Tour so they don't have it in stock... hopefully by the end of this week.

Also, a member (is a sprint repair tech) of the InsiderForums.com, changed teh tour trackball with one from the curve.

This is the link, I asked him for a tutorial to see if this can be a fix...

Hmmm...interesting. Personally, when it comes to alterations like that, I stay away hahaha. I'd rather do fixes that I'm SURE won't void my warranty. I think the only thing I've ever done was stick a dollar bill behind the battery door of my Storm. I'll have to give VZW CS a call and see what they can do; if there have been others with the same issue (I know there is) and find out what they did for them.

Went in today to see what they could do about the trackball issue, they said its not cover under the warranty and nor is the screen rippling. She said that there is a memo about an OS update coming out in about 2 weeks that will fix the trackball issue. WTF? LoL

software? how is a trackball fixed with software when the issue is the hardware?

I spoke to the best buy store i bought my tour. they will change it as soon as they get more in stock.

I also had a trackball issue with my new tour, started happening sometime after my 1st week.  Seems it was only when scrolling to the right as others have reported too.  I went into the verizon store and they replaced it with brand new one.

I went today to the store (Best Buy) and they finally got more Sprint Tours... I think this is batch #2 because this one is definitely better... even the battery door is not as loose...

This made me very happy today!!!

now im back to my addiction (frustration-free)

My TB worked great for the first 3 weeks or so and has just started screwing up the last couple days.  Mine wont scroll up at times and other times it works fine.  Hard to believe a S/W update can fix it though.   Huh

no... and afaik, the trackball issue is hardware, not software... and if its software, how come this hasn't been discussed anywhere...

and if there is an update coming... do they know when?

Go to a different store... I got mine replaced, but gotta tell you that Best Buy's service tops Verizon and Sprints!!!
