oh so I put the blue trackball in. Im rebooting right now. I have one problem. Well for one I almost broke the top earpiece you have to snap off (that says blackberry on it) but its ok. My only concern is I stripped one screw after I had taken it out. So you know how 2 screws go behind the ear piece? I only have one, doesnt seem to effect anything but I suppose I should replace it? Ok cant wait to try out the new TB...here I go....

Great all that for nothing. The new trackball wont move smoothly, especially left to right. Good thing Im original one worked fine. This sucks though, gotta take it all apart and put the old one back... :/

So you know how 2 screws go behind the ear piece? You have to be really careful when doing these things... Go very slow and with lots of patience!

Well now I need to try a better aftermarket Curve ball anyways, since the one I used didn't work properly.

You guys are nuts for voiding your warranty on your new Tours. Trackballs are a known issue for the first batches of Tours and are generally very easy to swap out for new units from most outlets. Sprint swapped mine out with a new unit after 2 weeks and restarted my 30 complete satisfaction warranty. The new one was manufactured 12/08/09 (dd/mm/yr) & was manufactured in Mexico (5) and is perfect in regard to the earlier known defects (trackball, battery cover & loose LCD). I'll wait for my 1 year warranty to expired before I start modding mine.

I got an August model that was made in Mexico. I'm like 10 days in and the only trouble I've had is a slightly loose door which I fixed. My trackball was/is fine, I just wanted a different color, and not that there is a problem with my stock TB, but I've heard the Curve ball is still an improvement.

I read today on blackberryos forum that it will work to swap the ball to the new trackpad when it comes out.. We are however gonna have to switch the hole keypad as well.. Can't wait it will be great

Oh wow that's really good to know. I'd much rather have the trackpad.

I'm having problems w/my TB as well. Currently my horizontal is on 90 and my vertical is on 80 and it's still pretty sensitive. One minute im trying to get on the internet and then I find myself in my pictures or in my calender! Would I have to go to Alltel and ask for a replacement trackball or would they have to give me another phone b/c of it?

I got my Tour 8/22, and its a July 17th manufactured Tour (one of the first ones), and still no problems. No trackpad problems specfically. Love the Tour, still anxious for the Essex though. Slightly interested in WiFi, but cant wait to have a trackpad. (Yes I know they can be problematic as well, still Id like a TP better)

I hear you... if sprint will offer the storm 2 in the future, I'm willing to forget about the trackball/trackpad and go full touch screen!
