Hey.. new to the site, am a newbie with my Blackberry.. use to have a Palm 755 and it was not a very good unit.  Hoping to learn all I can about the Tour.. Just upgraded from 4.7 to 5.0.. has anyone else do so?

Yeah, i upgraded (Sprint) to 5.0 - This turned the Tour into a whole new phone!!

When you upgraded are you having any issues with your desktop manager?  I agree..awesome performance from phone but have not been able to get my desktop to recognize that the phone is connected..

Nope... no issues recognizing the phone... only one time it gave me an error when backing up my phone via DM... but it only happened once.

Have you tried reinstalling DM? or connecting the phone in a different USB port? if you use Windows, sometimes the USB controller goes  bit crazy...  Cheesy

Hello All !!

Logging 1st day on my new Tour on VZW. upgraded from a Palm Centro. lots of new stuff to get used to. still can't get full web pages though - hear its a flash issue. any work arounds?
FB app SUCKS !! - jus gonna keep using mobile site.

any tips, tricks, or apps that are useful are appreciated.

While I agree that the FB app from RIM does suck.  It also has it's uses. Like integrating with the native messaging system to give you alerts and the notification icon. And you can also tie it into the Tour's native contacts and calendar system to get contact info and important dates direct from FB automatically, if you like.  For browsing my friends' and families' updates, I have recently switched to the Social Beat app which will poll for FB, MySpace, Twitter and Google Talk (and a bunch of RSS feeds if you like) all at once. Snaptu is another app that works pretty well for the FB interface that it offers.
