I've only had the tour for about 7 hours now. I came from the wonderful keyboard of the voyager. I'm a male with norm sized hands, if not slightly smaller. Are there any tricks to typing more efficiently? I feel like my hands want to over-lap each other, if that makes sense. So my typing has slowed down, its getting better but still not as fast or even close to what it was before. Will I probably get faster with time?

So far I love this thing, its my first BB. I love the multi tasking, love the browser and its speed. I know there is faster, but this is my first real smart phone, and to me its fast as hell. I love the design, gorgeous resolution on the screen, great camera, and the video camera is surprisingly good. I know its a battery drainer, but the option to have the flash light up and stay on while recording is really neat. I  charged the batt properly. Ive heard its not great. But Ive been surfing the web a lot, taking some pix, a few videos with the light on, lots of texting, and a 40 minute phone convo. still have 2.5 bars (50% battery).

I noticed the reception fluctuates, but call clarity is great.

I love it, I think I'm hooked, I will never buy outside BB again, unless something truly amazing presents itself.

Oh and the trackball was bad at first, bumped horizontal up to 80, and its flawless.

the more you type the faster you'll get used to it...

I dont think there is any tricks that will improve it. I can tell you that I type with the tip of my thumbs and got used to it real quick... like in 2 min quick..

Good to hear!

I just got my Tour yesterday and if you type with the tips of your thumb, it's so much easier (that's how I always type). I don't think people should really have any problems, my hand is the size of a tissue box and my thumb laying flat fills up 4 rows on the keyboard and I can type almost flawlessly (it's just the damn trackball always gets me hitting back when I try to push it in)

Lol, hey Ryu, when youre right, youre right.

And your also right BBFAN. I guess I used to type on my voyager with more the sides of my thumbs, didnt realize that until I got the tour. But typing with the tips is a must!

Every keybard takes time to get used to, I've drffinitely found that out with my gadget adddiction ;-)

The Voyager (and enV Touch) have the best keyboard int he industry IMHO, so yes you were spoiled but the BB will get faster as you type and the good news is that since al QWERTYl BB's have the same layout once you learn it it is easier to adapt to. For best speed a a log of us recommend typing with your two thumbs.

I am at the opposite end of the spectrum coming from a Storm 2.  I loved the SureType on the Storm 2 and was pretty quick with it, so the Tour is my first BB with a physical keyboard.  It has been a good experience so far (I am still getting used to it) and I am at least as quick as I was on Storm 2 if not a little quicker.
