Danger Will Robinson, Danger!

http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/tour-update-though-dm-beware-318226/

This happened to me too and after 5 attempts to fix it with the DM, J_Cmdr, etc I called Verizon and they are sending me a new phone :-(

I would STRONGLY recommend users avoid this leak (either via the DM or the leaked download).

I'm no newbie to BlackBerries, the Tour being my 6th BlackBerry smartphone, but this one really baffles me.

Is that a hybrid or a leak? Either way I dont mess with it unless its official, thats how you end up with problems.

It's a leak (I wont touch hybrids) that became official and then apparently was pulled.

I dont want to worry anybody here, the vast majority of times a leaked OS is just fine (just read comments about it first), as long as it is from the same vein (4.7.1.xx etc) as the most recent official. Generally all you need to do is make sure that you make backups on case something goes wrong, but in this case something was definitely WRONG. It's prety hard to completely brick a blackberry but this one seemed to do it somehow. I'm still playing with it to see if I can get it up and running before the new one comes Tuesday, but we shall see.

Hmm, that's weird. I updated my tour to this OS the day it popped up on my DM and I've had no problems whatsoever. Actually my tour runs better than it did with the original OS. Maybe i just got lucky!

Yeah, well when I tried to do the update it wiped my OS and my computer wouldn't even recognize it was there.  After doing a physical battery pull I plugged it back in and tried to reinstall the 4.7.1.40 OS and I'm having problems with that now!

"***'n upgrades!
