Ok, I'm on Verizon, and so far GREAT service everywhere Ive been in Pennsylvania. Ive noticed something  though. I live in a 2 story house so I'm not sure if that matters, but here's what I have deducted. The antenna MUST be at the bottom of the phone pointing down, am I correct? And if so, why is the Tour made this way, I know some other phones are like this as well.

When I'm in the living room, 1st floor, I usually have 3 to 4 bars. Fluctuating from 2 to 4, but almost always at 3 at the least. Now, when I hold the phone upside-down, it goes to 4 or a full 5 bars.

That's why I'm assuming the antenna must be at the bottom.

Upstairs on the second floor, or when I'm outside on my porch, always 4 or 5 bars though, no matter how I hold the phone. Love Verizon and the Tour  Grin

Great question... I seen the tour taken apart and I have taken mine apart... but i have no idea where the antenna is...

with this said, I don't think it really matter where the antenna is in the device since its such a small device. I think the fluctuation of signal in your home has to do with interference or how the signal waves are bouncing off in your home...

Yeah I think you're probably right about it my house causing the fluctuation. Because I'm steadily 5 bars when outside. I've noticed if you are sitting and hold the tour with the bottom pointing towards you, and press it up against your body, will cause it to go down a few bars of signal strength

I dont believe it is in either place, actually. I believe it is near the center of the device somewhere. Someone can corect me if I am wrong.

Yes something as simple as being inside a house can cause reception issues. I have similar issues in my room but in the front of the house it is fine. The good news is that this should improve with successive firmware updates, The phone has been out about a month now so we are about due for one (Verizon always seems to have an update about a month or 6 weeks after launch on BB's . . . though they are few are far between after that)
